President Trump is claiming a “Big Victory” Wednesday morning, while slamming the media as “Nasty and Hostile.”

“Received so many Congratulations from so many on our Big Victory last night, including from foreign nations (friends) that were waiting me out, and hoping, on Trade Deals,” Mr. Trump tweeted, “Now we can all get back to work and get things done!”

The president plans on talking more about the midterms at a press conference scheduled for 11:30 Wednesday morning.

Though Mr. Trump is taking the glass-half-full approach to the election results, there is no doubt his presidency faces a new reality on Capitol Hill.

Republicans managed to not only keep their hold on the Senate but expand their majority.

Democrats, on the other hand, succeeded in flipping control of the House. While the question remains how large of a majority they secure, networks projected Tuesday night that the Democrats would at least have the 23 necessary seats.

Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez predicted Wednesday morning his party will end up with about 230 house seats.

“I’m very pleased,” Mr. Perez told CNN. “We’re fortifying that blue wall moving forward”.

Mr. Trump took credit for Republican wins, saying that those who campaigned with him succeeded and those that didn’t should “say goodbye!”
